PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. O’Reilly has substantial, practical experience in the area of patent law, which he acquired while serving as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) in Alexandria, Virginia over the past four years.  While at the USPTO, Mr. O’Reilly worked in one of the mechanical engineering art units where he examined applications relating to heating and ventilation.  During his time at the USPTO, Mr. O’Reilly had the opportunity to work on hundreds of patent applications.

Prior to working as a patent examiner, Mr. O’Reilly was employed at one of the world’s leading architectural and engineering firms, Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill LLP (“SOM”).  While at SOM, Mr. O’Reilly focused on the design of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (“HVAC”) systems for international high-rise buildings.  In particular, he served as one of the primary mechanical engineers on Burj Khalifa (formerly known as Burj Dubai), which is presently the tallest building in the world.
